PGA Tour 2K21 Uses Some Seriously Impressive Mapping Tech To Bring Courses To Life

Today, 2K has shared a video all about next month’s PGA Tour 2K21, giving us an inside look at how state-of-the-art mapping technology is being used to bring real-life courses into the game.

The development team at HB Studios have partnered with Terra Imaging to capture and process detailed aerial drone footage of each course. These drones capture nearly every real-life detail of these intricate courses, right down to just one centimetre of accuracy, and then convert the data to 3D images for HB Studios developers to recreate in-game.
